Italianity, that is distinctive signs that will you make know that someone were born and brought up in Italy

Here we go with the second chapter of our article about Italianity, that is distinctive signs that will you make know that someone were born and brought up in Italy.

roma aperitivo

We know what aperitivo means. That enjoyable moment of the day when you knock off work or university and you can chill with your friends sipping some sparkling prosecco, spritz, white wine or handcrafted beers while picking tasty food from a rich buffet with everything from vegetables, passing through pasta, pizza, “fritti”, meat and fish. Yes, it’s aperitif time and we Italians know how to do it!

Senza titolo

When we were 14 we had already driven a scooter, smoked a cigarette and drunk a glass of wine. We are kinda premature, we rush into things and we want to grow up very quickly in order to feel like real men, so girls can look at us and say to her friends “look at him, is a figo” (cool boy). So basically we love to drive prepared moto scooters, smoke cigarettes and drink a little glass of wine or liquor at a tender age (pretending we like it). But after all we are good boys!

Italian toilet...bidet anyone?

When we go abroad we definitely miss the bidet. Maybe they can accuse us of being too spoiled, but we don’t care, we insist on that, wee need a bathroom with a bidet! That miraculous white piece of bathroom fixture, an incredible comfort that the rest of the world seems to completely ignore. We want to take advantage of this article to make an appeal: world let’s spread the bidet and your lives will become better!

Wedding in Italy

We went to an Italian style wedding. We definitely like to push the boat out and when is about weddings we let ourselves go. Hundreds of guests, basically all the town, celebrations lasting from the dawn to the sunrise and beyond, and 15 course meals. Huge rooms filled with round tables with the most exquisite food, the little orchestra that plays Italian classics, guests that toast and dance at the center of the dance floor. When the “lunch” is finished, we go for the evening buffet with karaoke, wild dances and loads of profiteroles and desserts of all sorts for good measure.

Santa Caterina

Basically we’re accustomed to a good, mild and sunny weather. We are a nation of “poets, artists and sailors” and we like to travel a lot, to know different cultures, countries and climates… but maybe we prefer our own climate. Call us weather sensitive, but we are used to chill in the sun even during fall or winter. One of Italy’s best feature is its gorgeous climate, a pleasant and Mediterranean one, so we have to go out for a walk in the sun everyday. We need it!
