Dar Filettaro a Santa Barbara

Dar Filettaro a Santa Barbara

(Largo dei Librari, 88)

What do you know about fried baccalà fillet? If you have never eaten at Dar Filettaro, maybe not that much. In the heart of the genuine Rome, Campo de’ Fiori, you will experience the real Roman food to savor in the sincere but spartan venue or to eat on the move. 3 kinds of frying, the best fried cod fish fillet of Rome, but also other specialties like fried zucchini or bread with butter and anchovies. Definitely a must eat if you are interested in traditional and peculiar Rome’s food style.

LasaGnam

LasaGnam

(Via Nazionale, 184 / Via Frangipane 15)

It’s not a dream, it’s real. A “lasagneria”, a place entirely dedicated to lasagna lovers! The first “lasagneria” in Rome and in the world, that offers an Italian oriented fast food that mixes tradition with innovation, with different kind of home-made and fresh lasagna prepared with typical product of Rome’s culinary tradition: zucchini blossoms, beef ragù, porcini mushrooms and speck. Try Italy Rome Tour’s choice, the one with cheek lard and eggs (carbonara style). Massive! Two venues for a street Italian specialty that won’t disappoint you!

kebab

Kebab

(Via Valenziani 14)

Not the usual street food thing, not one among many “kebab houses”, often mediocre and a little bit dirty. This is quite another thing. A real kebab restaurant that offers chic and creatives plates and wraps kebab, but… surprise… offering Italian chicken and turkey, danish beef and yes fish kebab! Different huge skewers accompanied with many delicious sauces and dressinsg as: chickpeas, fava beans, potatoes and eggplants cream. Try also other dishes, we recommend meet and aubergines stew, chicken or fish cous-cous with arab bread. Wow.

banco

Banco

(Via Ostiense, 40a)

Is not that easy to carve out a niche in Rome street food scene, but the Banco guys seem very good at it. Located in Ostiense district, this venue appears well-refinished, with references to 90’s fast food, although the sustenance is quite another thing. Hamburgers served in 3 versions: veg, chicken and fish and accompanied with good french fries. It doesn’t end here. Rolls are great and are made with an hand-made wrap filled with fresh and tasty ingredients (try salmon with rice). Salads as well are amazing. We tried one with french goat cheese, mixed berries and herbs. Sandwiches too are delicious and like all the other dishes gorgeous to look.

Tiramisu

Il San Lorenzo

(Via dei Chiavari, 4-5)

How we could not run for dessert? We go for tiramisu, as simple as irresistible all Italian mix of eggs, mascarpone cheese, savoyards and coffee. Well, we want to reveal you one of the best place where to try this little moment of ecstasy. Campo de’ Fiori area again, this time chez Il San Lorenzo, that presents an emotional tiramisu with artigianal mascarpone and savoyard biscuits covered with a special salty cocoa powder. Not the same old dessert, a gourmet and high cuisine one, to conciliate a quick break with a culinary experience with no equal. All this in a classy venue and awesome area of the Eternal City.
