Marine places that this summer will wave the “5 sails “, the famous award that honors the quality of tourism, the sustainable territorial management approach, landscape safety and the services offered, also winking at the good food.

The magic season has officially begun and what we all desire is a refreshing and regenerating beach holiday. If you need some advice on choosing the beach that best fits you, this article is for you. This June Legambiente (League for the Environment), the most widespread environmental organization in Italy, gave forth the most beautiful beaches in Italy. 14 marine places that this summer will wave the “5 sails “, the famous award that honors the quality of tourism, the sustainable territorial management approach, the landscape safety and the services offered, also winking at the good food.

We will write for you a list of the first 10, so you can take note for your next beach trip in Italy. Among these, the first prize goes to Castiglione della Pescala (GR).

Best italian beach: Catiglione della Pescaia

In this enchanting place of Tuscany, schools, inhabitants and tourists took part directly in this victory, due to the value of the coastal ecosystem and safety of dunes and Pine forest. Its dream beaches such as Rocchette and Punta Ala, have a soft golden sand, framed by a wild and suggestive landscape. The splendid coast-board is fringed by a dense pine grove. Recognized as European Council of the sport for 2014 it intensified sail, cycling, trekking and hiking activities.

Best italian beach: Pollice-Acciaroli-Pioppi

Located in the region of Campania, it praises a bright sea and beautiful beach resorts and is immersed in Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park. Famous for the beauty of its beaches, its beach properties and its distinctive port, it praised among its valuators, the great writer Hemingway, that stayed here for a long period in the 50’s. Worthy of a trip also Pioppi, an ancient hamlet of fishermen. In addition the Coucil of Pollica is active everyday for the reduction of water consumption.

Best italian beach: Posada

One of the most scenographic villages of Sardinian oriental coast.
It rises on a isolated chalky spur and overlooks the alluvial plain of Rio Posada, ideal for aquatic sports and kayak excursions. The three beaches we can find in the council of Posada, in the province of Nuoro are: Orvilli, Su Tiriarzu and San Giovanni. White sand backed by sandy hills covered by scented vegetation, and Mediterranean scrub.

Best italian beach: Ostuni

Surrounded by the green of the countryside and the intense blue of the sea. This little citadel of Puglia, in the heart of the coastal Murgia, arises on three hills. Rich for a historic legacy, it is famous for its white houses, located in the medieval village. Along its coasts, in a magic play of colors, wind wide beaches with sandy bays that alternate with rocky shores. Excellent accommodating structures and very interesting initiative like the Cycling Hotel for bicycle tourism.

Best italian beach: San Vito Lo Capo

The small Sicilian town is located in a valley between spectacular mountains. Gorgeous crystalline waters with Caribbean colors and a very characteristic beach shape. By night, indulge yourself in a stroll along the well-lighted water’s edge a stone’s throw from the old town center. We have to mention also the well-maintained beaches and a strong esteem of the environmental legacy in order to recover and preserve naturalistic areas.
