The Jewish Museum of Rome Great Synagogue, was first opened in 1960 to display the collection of the Jewish Community of Rome. Here we can find the works of the 17th and 18th century Roman silversmiths, precious textiles from all over Europe and marble carvings saved from the demolition of Cinque Scole Square. On November 23 2005, the museum reopened to the public with new displays, in order to highlight the magnificent artifacts and the precious documents that narrate the over 2000-year history of the Jews of Rome. The exhibition areas and a didactic itinerary show the relation-ship between the Jews and the City, the yearly cycle of Jewish Holidays and the Jewish life Cycle.

One of the oldest Jewish Communities of the world. Today the Museum presents a magnificent collection dating back to the years of the Ghetto (1555-1870): about 400 silver objects, 900 textiles, 100 marble pieces and modelings, documents, parchments arranged in 600 mq. of covered surface accessible to differently abled visitors. After the museum tour you could admire the garden with the Gallery of the Ancient Marbles Two Synagogues, The Great Synagogue and the Spanish Synagogue.
