Rome’s most beautiful panoramic views

If you want to enjoy Rome’s splendor to the fullest, you have to know Rome’s most beautiful panoramic views, 5 special spots chosen for you by Italy Rome Tour to stamp in your mind an unforgettable souvenir memory until you’ll come back for another trip in the Eternal City.
The whole city offers endless shows for eyes, each corner, alley, monument, but there are some one of a kind places where you can live the magic of the city and its majesty redoubled.

Trinità Dei Monti

Let’s start from an amazing panoramic spot located in a very central and historic area of Rome, Trinità Dei Monti. From the top of the eighteenth-century staircase, Piazza di Spagna looks totally different and gives access to an extremely elegant and fascinating scenario of an incredibly classy neighborhood. Once there don’t miss the promenade that leads to Villa Medici, with an unusual old town center skyline that seems like painting the domes of the churches.

Zodiaco

One of the best views of the Eternal City is without a doubt the belvedere of the “Zodiaco” in Monte Mario, also known as lovers walkway. From this unique terrace you can admire all the old town center of Rome until the Rome castles with the Apennines on the background. By day you can spot the Stadio Olimpico in the detail, but is during night that the magic happens and thanks to telescopes scattered there, you can enjoy a breathtaking night view.

Cupolone

Our third choice is a classic, but still one of the best, St. Peter’s Basilica Cupolone. Through a spiral steep climb, called “Saint Andrea snail” you will reach the most external Gallery of the Dome, from whom you can cherish a 360° panorama on the city. One of the most iconic attractions of Rome, created following the drawings of the great Michelangelo and located at 133 meters is one of those things you have to do at least once in your life with St. Peter’s Square, Castel Sant’Angelo and the Tiber below your feet, simply fantastic.

Capitoline Hill

If you are searching for something more particular perspectives ideal for lovely souvenir pics, you have to go to Capitoline Hill, where you’ll find 3 terraces, 2 leaning on the Roman Forum at the sides of the Senate building. From here you will understand at once the immensity of Rome and its past, still intact in the basilicas, columns, squares, temples, signs of the power of the caput mundi. A little extra tip, you can access the Terrace of the Cafeteria of Capitoline Museums for free with the possibility of enjoying the majestic Theatre of Marcellus.

Piazza Venezia

Last stop of our special tour is located in the famous Piazza Venezia, on the top of the Altare della Patria also know as the Vittoriano, the National Monument to Victor Emmanuel II. Here there are extraordinary panoramic terraces boasting a scenario without equal on the centre of the city but not only, and above all allow a unique glimpse on the Ancient Rome. Since 2007 two panoramic elevators bring you on the most elevated point of the monument, making this experience even better.
