Italian Autumn is so charming, with the vegetation that gets a yellowy touch, streets covered by poetic leaves and that breeze caressing your face. So, you have just to pack and take our tips to heart. Here a list of the places in Italy to visit in Autumn.

Vernazza

Vernazza

Cinque Terre

Cinque Terre area, in Liguria, is a fantastic and unique territory maybe because it boasts several borghi, 5 more precisely, each one with its attractions and beauties, turning out to be a one of a kind National Park. We have chosen Vernazza, according to most, the most suggestive among the little villages of the Cinque Terre. It extends along a little dock protected by a promontory naturally fortified by terraced riffs cultivated with luxuriant vineyards. Ancient and majestic watchtowers introduce to the visitor narrow and extended borgo characterized by the traditional houses-towers crossed by alleys and arpaie (staircases) and extends out an underground channel that reaches the sea from the hills behind Vernazza ending into the suggestive square with many boats docked to recall the secular vocation of the inhabitants.

Positano, Italy

Positano

Amalfi Coast

Only Italy can boast something like Amalfi Coast, a pearl enclaved between white rocks and a cobalt blue sea. The places to visit along Amalfi Coast are numerous but now we want to talk about the splendid Positano, taking its name after the God of the Sea. Worldwide known for its stunning beauty and its physicalness, comparable to a mermaid lying on this stretch of wonderful coast. The first step of our tour includes the beautiful majolica dome of Santa Maria Assunta church that literally shines at dawn. And then a little bit of grill on the paradisiac beaches of Fornillo and Spiaggia grande. At this point a visit to Grotta la Porta is unavoidable and after a “Delizia al limone” (lemon pastry) you can lose yourself among the lovely houses, alleys full of boutiques and the amazing slopes to the sea. No worries you are going to find your way, after all right here the compass was invented.

San Gimignano

San Gimignano

Tuscany

Let’s move from sea towards countryside of the Central Italy, Tuscany more specifically. Let’s go to San Gimignano, an hill town southwest of Florence among the most imposing and best preserved medieval towns of Italy. One of its remarkable attractions are the Thirteen Towers that dominate San Gimignano’s majestic skyline. They were built by noble families in the 12th and 13th century, when the town’s position, on the main pilgrim route from northern Europe to Rome, brought great prosperity to the area. The decline that stroke this town in the Middle Ages ironically helped to preserve the town’s medieval aspect intact until today. Once there you can’t miss a wine tasting tour! From Montepulciano, famous all around the world for its red wine (Vino Nobile), towards the splendid town of Montalcino and its surrounding hilly area, home of the well-known Tuscan wine, Brunello.
