Many people know about Amalfi Coast, Cinque Terre, Sardinia, Sicily, but how many of you know about the amazing beaches that Basilicata region has in storefor us? Have you never heard of Maratea? We’d like to introduce you the “Pearl of the Tyrrhenian” elected by Trivago as “Regina dell’estate 2015” (Queen of the summer 2015).
Maratea is a town in Basilicata still unexplored and uncontaminated on several counts, with a spectacular coastline characterized by a very interesting diversity of beaches. Exploring all its coastline you will find out different types of beaches, from the “Black Beach” passing through hidden rocky bays, to fairytale coves rich of mediterranean vegetation. Most beautiful beaches: Baia di Acquafredda

Cruising the narrow and winding coast like in a 50’s Italian movie, you will spot the coastline that twists in front of you, unveiling unparalleled views and spectacular beaches. When you are about to leave Maratea approaching Sapri, if you watch carefully you will notice a very little bay carved in the rock called “Baia Di Acquafredda “. Don’t be afraid of the steep and long stone staircase, once you arrive you won’t regret. There you’ll find a very solitary and timeless beach, almost none there, a deep and blue sea and grottoes that will recall you the magical sea of the greek mythology.

Most beautiful beaches: Nastro di Cersuta

The second stage of our seaside tour foresees a beach awarded by Legambiente as 2015 second most beautiful Italian beach after San Vito Lo Capo, in Sicily region. Located on the northern part of Maratea coast, it is one of the most suggestive beaches as regards as its naturalistic value and crystalline water. Symbol par excellence of the landscape and naturalistic qualities of an unique and immaculate territory, this beach boasts peculiar rocks, grottoes and inlets as good as the most marvellous world’s heaven’s corners.

If you are looking for something extremely relaxing and secluded, “Il Mirto” resort it’s what suits you.
