From Puccini to Verdi, from Morricone Etoile Abbagnato: street summer dell'Opera di Roma

It started the summer season 2013 Teatro dell’Opera di Roma in the picturesque setting of the Baths of Caracalla. Many musical events not to be missed. After the success of Dido and Aeneas by Henry Purcell, chamber opera inspired by the tragic love story sung by Virgil in the Aeneid, the evenings are still in the sign of great music.

A double Sicily, the popular Verga and the aristocratic happening of the Leopard 2 to 7 July. It starts with the Cavalleria Rusticana by Pietro Mascagni (work somehow because Roman was staged premiered at the Teatro Costanzi 17 May 1890) conducted by Gaetano d’Espinosa directed by Pier Luigi Pizzi. On the same evening, “Heaven and Earth” with the wonderful music of Nino Rota The Leopard that come to life with choreography director of the corps de ballet of the Opera Micha van Hoecke.

From monologue to Gigi Proietti evening Rolan Petit. By popular demand, after the success of last season, returns for a dual meet on 6 and 7 July Gigi Proietti. The actor will tell his Rome in a mix of musical and theatrical genres. Fans of the ballet will be able to attend, however, between 12 and 19 July at five evenings dedicated to the French choreographer Roland Petit, who died recently, with the étoile of the Paris Opera Eleanor Abbagnato: plans to Arlésienne and Carmen music by Georges Bizet directed by the master Andriy Yurkevich. From July 16 to 18 will be held piéce “Carlos Kleiber – the Titan insecure” by Valerio Hats and Mario Sesti played by Remo Girone and Anita Bartolucci directed by Pier Luigi Pizzi.
