Sorrento - Ruins

The Valley of the Mills

Sorrento
In the historic centre of Sorrento nature took possession of an old abandoned place, the Deep Valley of the Mills. The name of this place derives from the existence of a mill functioning since the beginning of the 20th century. It is possible to admire from above, in a suggestive perspective, this natural extraordinary spectacle that encircles on the southeast side the tuffaceous rock platform of the old town center, carved profoundly and transversely by the characteristic rift. The rift valley originated from the vastest eruption which shook the Mediterranean many years ago and made the valleys privileged places of the human settlement. The lack of water has contributed to form very narrow gorges, that widen only in the point where two streams of water meet. The closeness of the environment produced an high humidity that favored the growth of a tick and strange vegetation, that literally invaded the valley.

Positano

God’s pathway

Positano
Ready for something different. If you like sea and trekking, this excursion suits you. A track that links the hill village of Agerola to the little fraction of Nocelle, near Positano, will make you enjoy the Amalfi coast from a very privileged point of view. From here the view is celestial, that’s why they call it “degli Dei”, God’s path. If you love nature and breathtaking panoramas, don’t miss this place, but get prepared, you have a long promenade ahead, but your efforts will be rewarded. Ideally, walkers should walk from Agerola to Nocelle, and not vice-versa, this way the route is a gentle downhill one, with magnificent views of the Amalfi Coast and the island of Capri. In a particular period of the year you will enjoy also some classical concerts played along the path by local musicians, what else?

Ravello - Villa Rufolo - Italy

Ravello gardens

(Amalfi Coast)
Ravello, pearl of the Amalfi Coast. The town of classical music, fine ceramic and amazing sea of course, which scenic beauty earned it a listing as a UNESCO World Heritage Site (https://www.italyrometour.com/travel-blog/italy-realm-unesco-sites). One of the most exclusive destinations of the Amalfi Coast it will astonish you with its unique gardens, the most beautiful of the entire Coast and not only. It’s all thanks to the English lords that chose Ravello for their Grand Tour, bringing with them their gardening skills and passion. We owe to them and to Ravello peasants the splendor of Villa Cimbrone. The most enchanting creations can be cherished also at Villa Rufolo or standing on the Belvedere of the town and in various private gardens like the one of the Belmond Hotel Caruso that preserved the original structure of the flowered boulevard, where the english nobles adored to spend their afternoons.
