Experience the heart of Italian chocolate at the Casa del Cioccolato Perugina, located a few kilometers from the center of Perugia. This unique place offers a journey through the history of chocolate, starting at the Historical Museum, where the captivating story of Perugina unfolds. The exploration continues at the factory (Fabbrica), the birthplace of delectable creations, and the School of Chocolate, an ideal spot for enthusiasts to share in Perugina’s timeless passion and creative art. You can choose between a private tour of the factory or an immersive experience at the School of Chocolate, or even both for an additional cost.
Morning tours are available from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and afternoon tours from 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM.
On Saturdays, tours run from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM (closed from January 10th to February 4th on Saturdays).
In June and July, Monday afternoon tours are by reservation only.
Ticket prices are the following:
– Full price: €9
– Reduced price: €7 (applicable to ages 13-17, groups of 10 or more, accompanying individuals with disabilities, and those over 65)
– Children aged 6 to 12: €4
– Free admission for children up to 5 years and disabled individuals
– School children: Free for 0-5 years, €3 for elementary and middle school, €5 for high school.
After the chocolate adventure, your driver will take you to explore the central area of Perugia. This well-known artistic center has a rich history dating back to the Etruscan period. Home to the famous painter Pietro Vannucci, known as Perugino, who taught Raphael, the renowned Renaissance artist. Perugino’s masterpieces can be admired in the Sala del Cambio and the National Gallery of Umbria. The city also boasts the works of another renowned painter, Pinturicchio, who created the city symbol, the Griffin.
