From Rome to Assisi and Perugia

Situated on a hill adorned with olive and cypress trees, Assisi, a medieval town in Umbria, is globally renowned for St. Francis and his Basilica, the focal point of our tour. As we explore, the original frescoes by Giotto and Cimabue come to life, revealing hidden chapels along narrow streets filled with artisans, shops, and art galleries.

Next on our journey is Perugia, an artistic center steeped in Etruscan history. Home to renowned painter Pietro Vannucci, known as Perugino, and teacher of Raphael, Perugia boasts the adorned Sala del Cambio with his frescoes. Pinturicchio, another famous painter, contributed the city’s symbol, the Griffin, seen in plaques and statues throughout. As a university town with the University of Perugia and host to annual festivals like Eurochocolate and Umbria Jazz, Perugia is a vibrant hub of culture and history.
