From La Spezia Port to Chianti Region
Your driver will meet you at the parking lot you will reach by taking the free shuttle when disembarking the cruise (in order to make the most of your day, we do suggest you exit the ship about 20 minutes earlier than your scheduled tour start time) holding a sign with last name on it.
Together you will move directly to Greve in Chianti driving through the famous Chianti wine road. You will visit this fabulous town which is sitting in the Val di Greve, it is named for the small, fast-flowing river that runs through it. It is the principal town in the Chianti wine district which stretches south of Florence to just north of Siena. Until recently it has been a quiet, almost bucolic town because it was, and still is, well off the main roads.
After the visit in Greve you will drive through Montefioralle (right in the heart of Chianti Region), and through Badia a Passignano, two other wonderful villages, here you will have time for pictures after which, you will move on to another wonderful village, San Donato in Poggio. Here you will have time to walk around and reach the middle of the vineyards.
You will visit a great winery where you are going to have a tasting of 4 different wines, tour this 13th century winery with a great sommelier/guide, and have a typical Tuscany light lunch (bruschetta, cannellini beans, tuscan pecorino, salami, ham), cantucci (dry almond cookies) and Vin Santo. After this wonderful experience we will drive you back to the starting location.
