But beaches are never enough, so even if the most beautiful season is going towards its sunset, we want to celebrate it once more, talking about the best Italian beaches of 2016. Our article moves from the initiative of Legambiente, the Italian environmentalist association that has announced as usual its annual online contest to award the most beautiful Italian beaches chosen by the users by an online vote. The most beautiful beaches have an inestimable value, as well as a huge attraction from a tourist point of view. We have to preserve these jewels to safeguard them and make them usable to visitors but at the same time keep them uncontaminated. Here we go to enlist Italian’s favorite seaside places, corner of heavens and most suggestive bays.
Best Italian beach: d’I Vranne, Maratea
The number 1 beach of our chart is located in our beloved Basilicata, in Maratea more specifically. It’s called d’I Vranne. As we have already told you the Pearl of the Tyrrenhian Sea is amazing, boasting 30 kilometers of enchanting coasts characterized by different kind of beaches and sceneries. This one has a fine and dark sand located below a cliff between the Port and the “borgo”. This fairytale beach is reachable only by sea and is divided by a group of rocks that split it almost in two. The southernmost point of the beach spreads towards the sea hiding the Grotto of Giorgio, one of the most beautiful in Italy, shelter of big octopus, groupers and morays. Crystal clear water and the unique location make it a real paradise that boat rides lovers are going to adore.

Located among the centre of the peninsula, the southern regions and our beautiful islands, this beaches represent the variety and opulence of Italian territory, but without a doubt have in common a sort of wildness, purity, their uncontaminated state and above all their charm.
