A passion for tango at the Auditorium

Rome’s Auditorium Parco della Musica is once again hosting Buenos Aires Tango, 4th edition of one of the greatest international festivals of music, song and dance dedicated to this extraordinary artistic movement that has been declared a UNESCO cultural heritage of humanity. For ten days, from september 12th to 21st, the rooms, the theatre, the cave, the foyer and the open-air spaces of the Auditorium will host a rich program me of concerts, performances, seminars and dance lessons, talks, exhibitions and the Milongas in Cavea, where couples can dance the night away to music in the open air. Produced by Fondazione Musica per Roma and organized in collaboration with the City of Buenos Aires, this year’s Festival focuses in particular on the dance element with two exceptional new events: the Campeonato de Campeones, in Sala Sinopoli, a performance by the world’s best dancers and competition between the winning couples of the last edition of the Buenos Aires World Tango Championship, and the Campeonato Italiano de Tango Salon, also in its first year, open to all amateur dancers wishing to take part.

Among artists performing will be the singer Juan Villareal and the pairs of dancers Milena Plebs and David Alejandro Palo, Horacio Goday and Magdalena Gutièrrez Calvino, Los Macana and the brothers Enrique and Guillermo De Fazio, famous all over the world for their highly original and entertaining interpretations.

The Festival also welcomes back the choreographer and dancer Silvana Grill, who will not only perform but also participate as one of the leading teachers of the popular courses and seminars included in the programme.
