The Borghese gallery represents one of the most important statement of the italian Renaissance. It houses collections of works by the greatest italian artists. Famous all over the world, it takes the name from its founder, the Cardinal Scipione Borghese.

The Borghese Mansion was commissioned by the cardinal Scipione Borghese to Flaminio Ponzio and Vasanzio and it was built between 1613 and 1614. Its extraordinary masterpieces contributed to make the Gallery renowned all over Europe. Indeed the museum houses an important collection of works by Bernini, Antonello da Messina, Raffaello, Tiziano, Correggio, Caravaggio and Canova, whose Victorious Venus (1805), internationally known as Paolina Bonaparte, is the most famous piece in the museum and is considered its symbol. The collection is arranged over two floors and around 20 decorated rooms; the lower floor has been dedicated mainly to sculptures, while the upper floor to paintings.

The Borghese Gallery is located in one of the largest park in Rome, called Villa Borghese. It is not just a normal park, but a real tourist destination. In fact you can stroll or relax under a three, riding a bike or visiting the House of Cinema.
